Nelson Lakes, St Arnaud

- Lake Rotoiti is only 50 mins drive from Samaki Lodge. This gives access to numerous walks, boating & kayaking & even skiing in winter. Enjoy the beauty of mountains & lakes - you may even see a kiwi!

Abel Tasman National Park

- about an hours drive along the coastal highway through Motueka taking in various art and craft venues along the way. Take the opportunity to enjoy the sandy beaches, marine reserve, hiking New Zealand's Abel Tasman Coastal Track and exploring one of New Zealand's most picturesque coastlines.

Kahurangi National Park

- wonderful mountain ranges, rivers and remote wilderness areas. Walk the Heaphy Track, or fish in the Karamea river and its tributaries.
